	Dear AME Scouts and Supporters of AME Scouts:
	We have 14 girls ages 15-17 years old in our Girl Scout Troop at DuPage African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. The majority of us have been in Girl Scouting for 10 or more years. We have earned all the major Girl Scout awards including the Bronze Award, the Silver Award and the biggest award of all, the Gold Award. Our leader feels it is extremely important for us to learn how to set goals and to finish what we started. With each award we took on the same mindset: Plan it, organize it and complete it. It was not easy for us to earn our Gold Award. It took us almost 2 years of hard work completing over 70 hours for the requirements and over 65 hours for our individual projects. As a reward for all of our dedication and hard work, we are planning a 9 day trip to the Girl Scout center in Cuernavaca, Mexico in August 2008. At the center we will meet girls from all over the world and perform a service project together. We are working very hard to earn money and we need your support. We have designed a holy bear tag to show our love for scouting. The inside of the tag states “Preparing caring, Christian leaders for tomorrow using scouting principles and traditions”. Please support us by purchasing a bear for only $11 ($10 plus shipping and handling) to show your support and love of AME scouts. They make great birthday, bridging and graduation gifts.
